Traumas from the dystopia we find within ourselves and in the world around us is something we cannot avoid. Whether it be sexual, physical, political, social, economic etc. We all have ways of dealing with pain and distress.
My work directly reflects the way I deal with these types of disturbances specifically the absurd nature I experience on a regular basis.
I use humor as a coping mechanism to filter these types of issues and push through these chakras of shit to find peace and tranquility through my artwork.
I use a playful Duchampian process with objects that have a similar history of association to explore these juxtapositions and concepts. This combination of serious concept with absurd objects creates a somewhat black abject humoristic, absurd and awkward final product that begs more questions than answers.
